Fibonaccis - Civilization And Its Discotheques Civilization And Its Discotheques
Pop New - LP 0112 Blue Yonder Sounds
Sealed 1987 Original. “The Fibonaccis Emerged From The Los Angeles Art Punk Scene That Included Bands Such As Wall Of Voodoo, Oingo Boingo And Sparks. Citing Film Composers Nino Rota And Ennio Morricone As Among Their Influences, The Fibonaccis Composed Songs Featuring Intricate Piano And Guitar Lines, Over-The-Top And Sometimes Incomprehensible Vocals And Frequent Use Of Unconventional Instruments Such As Mandolins, Clarinets And Mellotrons. Their Music Was Nearly Impossible To Categorize: The Band Themselves Often Dubbed Their Sound As "Elevator Music From Hell", Featuring Strong Elements Of Progressive Rock, World Music, Cabaret And/Or Funk. Occasionally The Band Would Branch Into More Experimental Pieces, Such As Spoken Word Recitations Of Emily Dickinson And Wallace Stevens Poems Set Against Music, Residents-Style Instrumentals Or Offbeat Cover Songs Such As The Theme To Psycho. Lyrically, The Band Regularly Explored Dark Subject Matter Such As Serial Killers And UFOs.” - Wikipedia... more details
