Sealed 2017 180gm 3LP Gatefold. Topographic Drama – Live Across America Highlights The Best Performances From The 2017 Leg Of The 28-Show Tour And Mirrors The Set List From Those Concerts. Martinez, Hirth - Hirth From Earth
Sealed 1975 Original Produced By Robbie Robertson. In 1974, Robbie Robertson Became Fascinated By The Music Of The Totally Unknown And Very Eccentric Guitarist And Songwriter Hirth Martinez, A Man Who "Sang Of UFOs As Well As Loneliness And Self-Doubt", And Decided To Produce An Album For Him. It Was Among The Loopier Products Of L.A.'S Singer-Songwriter Underbelly, Pitched Somewhere Between The Van Dyke Parks Of Song Cycle And The Dr.John Of Gris-Gris. There Was Sandpipers-Style Samba ("Altogether Alone"), Some Soft California Funk ("Djini"), A Slice Of Cosmic Beach Boys Dippiness ("Be Everything"), And Even The Sub-Captain Beefheart "Comin' Round The Moon". Notwithstanding Some Interesting Moments ("Silent Movies") And Snatches Of Inspired Playing From Robbie And Garth, Hirth's Nutty Lyrics Were At Best An Aquired Taste. Hirth From Earth Received Uniformly Disparaging Reviews, But Robbie Later Would Defend His Decision To Produce The Album, Claiming That People Did Not Understand How Great A Songwriter Martinez Was....more

Turner, Tina - Private Dancer
Sealed 1984 Record Club Mail Order Edition (No Bar Code On Back Cover). "In 1984, A 45-Year-Old Tina Turner Made One Of The Most Amazing Comebacks In The History Of American Popular Music. A Few Years Earlier, It Was Hard To Imagine The Veteran Soul/Rock Belter Reinventing Herself And Returning To The Top Of The Pop Charts, But She Did Exactly That With The Outstanding Private Dancer. And Turner Did So Without Sacrificing Her Musical Integrity. To Be Sure, This Pop/Rock/R&B Pearl Is Decidedly Slicker Than Such Raw, Earthy, Hard-Edged Ike & Tina Classics As "Proud Mary," "Sexy Ida," And "I Wanna Take You Higher." But She Still Has A Tough, Throaty, Passionate Delivery That Serves Her Beautifully On Everything From The Melancholy, Reggae-Influenced "What's Love Got To Do With It" To The Gutsy "Better Be Good To Me" To Heartfelt Remakes Of The Beatles' "Help," Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," And David Bowie's "1984." A Reflection On The Emptiness Of A Stripper's Life, The Dusky Title Song Is As Poignant As It Is Depressing. Without Question, This Was Turner's Finest Hour As A Solo Artist." Alex Henderson, AMG....more

Kral, Irene - Where Is Love?
Sealed 1975 Original Featuring Alan Broadbent On Piano. Custom Grammy Award Nominee "Best Jazz Vocal 1976" Sticker On The Shrink Wrap. Top Recommendation. “A Program Of Ballads Exquisitely Interpreted By Singer Irene Kral And Pianist Alan Broadbent. The Tempos Are All Quite Slow, But The Emotional Yet Cool Intensity Given By Kral And Broadbent Means That There Are No Slow Moments. Among The Songs Given Definitive And Memorable Treatment Are Blossom Dearie's "I Like You, You're Nice" And Bob Dorough's "Love Came On Stealthy Fingers," "Never Let Me Go," And Especially "Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most." This Is A Haunting Program, Irene Kral's Best; It Sticks In One's Memory Long Afterwards And Can Be Considered One Of The Finest Sets Of Ballads Ever Recorded. Essential Music.” Scott Yanow, AMG....more
