1987 CRC original. Reba McEntire’s "Greatest Hits" album was released in 1987, marking an important milestone in her career as one of country music’s leading female vocalists. The compilation features ten tracks drawn from her successful period with MCA Records, highlighting songs from the early and mid-1980s that solidified her place on the charts. At the time, Reba had already garnered significant acclaim and a loyal fanbase, and this album served both as a celebration of her achievements and an accessible entry point for new listeners. Songs such as "How Blue" and "Somebody Should Leave" showcase her storytelling prowess and emotive delivery, both of which contributed to her rising popularity during the era. From a historical perspective, the release of "Greatest Hits" came at a turning point for Reba as she was transitioning from straightforward country sounds to a more sophisticated, crossover style in subsequent albums. The compilation not only captures the essence of her early work but also reflects the broader trends in 1980s country music, where artists like McEntire were instrumental in pushing the genre’s boundaries. Its commercial success—achieving multi-platinum status—demonstrated both the lasting appeal of her music and her influence on the industry. The album’s impact continues to be felt, as it remains a concise summary of the formative years of a career that would become one of the most celebrated in country music history. more

Revived Remixed Revisited
Box Set - New - B0033960-01
Sealed 3LP boxset, compiling her most iconic songs. "Revived Remixed Revisited is an ambitious catalog project where Reba McEntire looks back upon her career and decides to present familiar songs in three new lights. "Revived" finds McEntire delivering old hits in the overblown fashion of her stage show, "Remixed" offers ten dance club-oriented remixes of old recordings, while "Revisited" contains acoustic-anchored rearrangements of ten old tunes. It's a lot to absorb, with "Fancy" being the common thread: the song concludes each of the three discs, illustrating how "Revived" is splashy and melodramatic, "Remixed" is bombastic and slightly tacky, and "Revived" is stripped-down and soulful. There are merits to all three approaches and, when combined, they do give a sense of why Reba McEntire remains a country and pop icon 40 years after her first big hits." The Last One To Know
Used - LP - MCA-42030
1987 original, Gloversville pressing. Small hole punch. "Recorded as McEntire went through the process of divorce from first husband Charlie Battles, it's understandably heavy on songs about breakups and the uncertainty of the future, "The Stairs" -- about domestic violence -- is particularly moving. Despite her personal pain, she still holds out hope in "Love Will Find Its Way to You." All Music Guide – Tom Roland more
