Rhodes, Emitt - Mirror Mirror
Pop New - LP DSX 50111 Dunhill
Sealed 1971 Gatefold Original. Tiny Cut Out Hole. “Following The Critical Success Of His Debut Solo Album, Emitt Rhodes, The One Man Beatles, Entered His Home Studio For The Follow-Up, And He Did Not Disappoint. Although Not As Cohesive As His Last Record, Mirror Is Home To Some Of His Finest Material. "Birthday Lady" And "Really Wanted You" Are Almost Stones-Like In Their Attack, Aggression, And Feel, And Rhodes Pulls Them Off With Fantastic Results. "Golden Child Of God" Is Also One Of His Finest Compositions -- It Also Would Have Easily Been At Home On Paul Mccartney's Ram. All In All, This Album Is Not A Disappointment, Coming Off His Self-Titled Debut Emitt Rhodes, Which Can Easily Be Described As One Of The Classics Of The Period.” Matthew Greenwald, All Music.... more details

Rhodes, Emitt - American Dream American Dream
Pop New - LP SP 4254 A&M
Factory Sealed 1971 Original. Pristine Copy. This LP Appeared For An Extremely Short Period With Different Front Cover Art And Is Very Rare With An Auction Price In The $400-$500 Range. “Although This Album May Have Been A Contractual Obligation, There Is No Doubt That Emitt Rhodes Did Not Take The Task Of Recording American Dream Lightly. After Disbanding His First Group, Merry Go Round, Rhodes Still Owed A&M Records Another Album. Several New Sessions Were Held, And Along With A Few Old Tracks Such As The Remarkable "You're A Very Lovely Woman," They Make Up The Body Of This Fine, If Fragmented Album. "Mother Earth" Is Without A Doubt One Of Rhodes' McCartney-Influenced Masterpieces, Led By A Strident 12-String Acoustic Guitar And A Masterful Lead Vocal. For The First (And Possibly Only) Time In His Career, Rhodes Utilized Session Musicians, But He Used The Very Best. Awesome Playing From Hal Blaine, Larry Knechtel, Drake Levin, Joel Larson, And Others Lift This Track And Others To A Level Of Greatness.” Matthew Greenwald, AMG.... more details

Rhodes, Emitt - Emitt Rhodes Emitt Rhodes
Pop New - LP DS 50089 Dunhill
Factory Sealed 1970 Gatefold Original. “Although This Probably Wasn't Meant To Be, This Album Is Emitt Rhodes' Definitive Statement. Soon After Disbanding The Merry Go Round (Of "Live" Fame) Rhodes Scored A Solo Deal With Dunhill. Rather Than Recording With A Band Or Using Studio Musicians (Which He Did With His First "Solo" Album American Dream), The Multi-Instrumentalist Decided To Build A Small, Primitive Home Studio And Record The Entire Affair There, "At Home." The Results Are, In A Word, Staggering. Tracks Such As "With My Face On The Floor," "Someone Made For Me," And The Entire Album As A Whole Showcase Rhodes' Genius, And In The End, The Songs Are Probably What Most Beatles-Maniacs Wanted To Hear From Paul Mccartney's Debut Album. Rhodes' Individuality Shines Through Despite This; The Album Is A True Classic Of The Period.” Matthew Greenwald, All Music Guide.... more details

Rhodes, Emitt - Farewell To Paradise Farewell To Paradise
Pop Used - LP DSX 50122 ABC Dunhill
Rare 1973 White Label Promo Housed In A Gatefold Cover With Promo Sticker On Front And Custom Insert. Hint Of Ring Wear. LP Appears Glossy, Unplayed. “This, Essentially Emitt Rhodes' Third And Final Album, Is Once Again A One-Man-Band Affair. It Does Differ, However, From His Earlier Efforts. The Record Has A Much More Wistful, Almost Harry Nilsson-Like Feeling, And This Permeates Most Of The Cuts. This Album Also Finds Rhodes Experimenting With Other Instruments, Such As Violin On "Warm Self Sacrafice," One Of The Album's Standouts. Although Not As Buoyant As His Earlier Efforts, Farewell To Paradise Is Still A Very Strong Album, And Further Cements His Reputation As One Of The Great (Albeit Long-Lost) Artists Of The Period.” Matthew Greenwald, AMG.... more details
