Circles & Seasons
New - LP - BSK 3329
Sealed 1979 Original. Saw-Cut, Small Corner Crease. “Sixty Years Young As Of 1979, Pete Seeger Hadn't Lost An Iota Of His Edge On This Attractive Album, Lovingly Produced By His Old Cohort In The Weavers, Fred Hellerman (Whose Photo Prominently Adorns The Back Cover). Hellerman Gave Seeger A Little More Production Than He Was Used To, But The Touches Are Mostly Light, Even Whimsical, More Often Than Not Played By Hellerman Himself On A Bewildering Collection Of Instruments. And Sometimes Seeger Does Away With All Backing In A Number Of A Cappella Songs, Like The Blatant Double-Entendre Joke "The Photographers." Though The Times Were Turning Conservative, The Left Is Never Off The Table As Far As Seeger Is Concerned, For The Album Leads Off With "Garbage," A Trenchantly Pessimistic Song About The Consumer Society, And Closes With A Satirical Round Written By His Father, Musicologist Charles Seeger (The Latter Features A Reunion Of All Three Of The Original Surviving Weavers). While Many Of The Songs Here Are Remakes Of Things Drawn From His Inexhaustible Song Bag, Seeger Does Come Up With A Handful Of New Tunes Of His Own, Topped By A Gem Called "Maple Syrup Time" That Welds A Political Allegory To An Absolutely Lovely Tune And A Caribbean-Flavored Backing. This, As Well As The Remake Of The Spanish Civil War Rouser "Viva La Quince Brigada," A Native American Canoe Song, And A Sicilian Tarantella Remind Listeners That Seeger, In His World-Embracing Manner, Was Always A Consummate Eclectic, Borrowing Lots Of Things From Foreign Cultures That Struck His Fancy. Though Seeger Continued To Make Live Albums With Arlo Guthrie And Harp, This Would Be His Last Solo Studio Album For About 16 Years, And It Captures Him In Joyful, Life-Affirming Form.” - Richard S. Ginell, All Music Guide

Dangerous Songs!?
New - LP - CS 9303
Sealed 360 Stereo Original. Promo Stamp On Back Cover. “In 1966, When The Topical Song Movement Had Gained National Attention Through The Newly Written Material Of Bob Dylan And Such Compatriots As Tom Paxton And Phil Ochs, Pete Seeger Set Out To Demonstrate That "Protest" Songs Were Not A New Thing By Putting Together An Album Largely Made Up Of Traditional Material That Had Its Roots In Long-Since-Forgotten Political Issues, Everything From The Nursery Rhyme "Little Jack Horner" To The Civil War March "John Brown's Body." Further, Seeger Suggested That Everything Is Political, Whether It's The Apparently Comic Children's Song "Beans In My Ears" Or That Piece Of Irish Advice "Never Wed An Old Man." ("In The Long Run, The Most Truly Dangerous Songs Of All May Prove To Be Love Songs And Lullabies," He Wrote In The Liner Notes.) And Then There Were Songs That All Would Agree Are Political (Though Humorous), Such As "The Pill" And Ochs' "Draft Dodger Rag." The Resulting Collection Is One Of Seeger's Funniest, And At The Same Time Most Pointed Albums.” William Ruhlmann, AMG.

Folk Music: Live At The Village Gate
New - LP - FV 9013
Sealed 1965 Mono Original. Cut Out Hole. “It's Not Clear When Exactly The Tracks On This Album Were Recorded, Though Seeger Makes Topical References To Civil Rights Activities In Montgomery, AL, And Richmond, VA, In "Oh, What A Beautiful City" And In South Africa In "Senzeninar." The Collection Is More Devoted To Traditional Folk Music And The Songs Of Woody Guthrie Than To Political Concerns, Although The LP Does Fade Out To The Sound Of The Audience Singing, "I Ain't Gonna Study War No More," The Chorus Of "Down By The Riverside." That Audience Is Small, Clearly, And The Ambience Of A Club Is Apparent In The Occasional Sound Of Clinking Glasses. But The Audience Members Are So Enthusiastic In Singing Along That Seeger Often Accompanies Them In Harmony Instead Of Singing The Melody, Which, Since He Is Still Louder Than They Are (Or At Least Closer To The Microphone) Sometimes Gives The Songs An Odd Sound. Still, This Is Another Good Seeger Live Album, Albeit One Released At A Time When The Record Racks Were Already Full Of Other Good Seeger Live Albums.” William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide.

New - LP - KG 31949
Sealed 2LP Stereo 20 Track Gatefold Hits Collection. “An Excellent Two-Disc Compilation Of Seeger's Columbia Years, This Album Contains 20 Songs, Most Of Which Will Be Familiar To Seeger Fans And Folk Enthusiasts In General. There's Far More Valuable Seeger On Columbia, But It's Good To Have "Turn! Turn! Turn!" As Sung By Its Adapter And "If I Had A Hammer" As Sung By Its Coauthor, Not To Mention Such Seeger Concert Staples As "Guantanamera" And "Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream."” - William Ruhlmann, AMG
