The Mahabharata - Original Soundtrack

Sealed 1990 Original With Custom Inner Sleeve. Small Corner Crease. Original Soundtrack To The Peter Brook Film. Saw Cut. "This soundtrack to the Peter Brooks film stands nicely on its own. With a piece of text as full and rich as Mahabharata, a musical companion to the mammoth poem would be possible without a movie in the mix. So, regardless of whether listeners have seen the film or not, they should check out this incredible Real World release. The programmatic feel of the various pieces is maintained throughout. The numbers comprise a mixture of Indian and Middle Eastern musical elements and feature both vocal and instrumental explorations. The ensemble reflects the varied musical terrain, with contributors (both in the writing and playing of the album) from Turkey, Japan, India, Denmark, Iran, and France. Standout players include the master ney player Kudsi Erguner and vocalist Sarmila Roy." All Music Guide – Stephen Cook more
