Williams, Lucinda - Little Honey
Sealed 2008 Original With Hype Sticker On The Shrink Wrap. "Is Your Death Wish Stronger Than You Are?" Lucinda Williams Asks In "Little Rock Star," A Cautionary Song Swathed In Guitar Noise That Someone Should Instant-Message To Pete Doherty, Ryan Adams And Amy Winehouse. While It Shows That The 55-Year-Old Barbed-Wire Country Singer Is Wary Of Rock's Trappings, Little Honey Proves She's Still Crushed Out On The Music. On "Real Love," Amid Boogie-Rock Riffing, She Alternately Pledges Her Heart To A Guy, A Girl And An Electric Guitar. And "Honey Bee" Ranks With Joe Liggins' 1945 Hit "The Honeydripper" As One Of The Nastiest Apiological Jams Ever ("Now I Got Your Honey," She Hollers, "All Over My Tummy!"). There Are Some Throwaways: "Jailhouse Tears," A Honky-Tonk Trailer-Trash Bitchfest, Is Playacted Too Hard By Williams And Guest Elvis Costello. But It's Useful Comic Relief Between The Downtempo Numbers That — For All The Rock Thrills Here — Remain Williams' Most Potent Showcases. "If Wishes Were Horses," She Moans On The Sublime Song Of The Same Name, "I'd Have A Ranch." Ride 'Em, Sister.” – Will Hermes, Rolling Stone...more

Bernabei’s Main Contracts Came From The Chateau Ballroom (Los Angeles) And Golden West Ballroom (Norwalk), Finding More Permanent Employment At The Latter Emporium As Manager And Leader Of The House Band. Browne, Jackson - For Everyman
Sealed 1973 Die-Cut Cover LP With Custom Card Inner Sleeve. Clean Cut Out Hole. Label Variation Unknown. Features David Crosby, Bonnie Raitt And Others. First Sealed Copy We Have Seen In Four Years. "Jackson Browne Faced The Nearly Insurmountable Task Of Following A Masterpiece In Making His Second Album. Having Cherry-Picked Years Of Songwriting The First Time Around, He Turned To Some Of His Secondary Older Material, Which Was Still Better Than Most People's Best And, Ironically, More Accessible — Notably Such Songs As "These Days," Which Had Been Covered Six Times Already, Dating Back To Nico's Chelsea Girl Album In 1967, And "Take It Easy," A Co-Composition With The Eagles' Glenn Frey That Had Been A Top 40 Hit For The Group In 1972. Browne Unsuccessfully Looked For Another Hit Single With The Up-Tempo "Red Neck Friend," Reminisced About Meeting His Wife And Starting A Family In The Coy "Ready Or Not," And, At The End, Finally Came Up With A New Song To Rank With Those On The First Album In The Philosophical Title Track, Which Reportedly Was His More Positive Reply To Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's "Wooden Ships." (David Crosby Sang Harmony.) Musically, The Album Was Still Restrained, But Not As Austere As Jackson Browne, As The Singer Had Hooked Up With Multi-Instrumentalist David Lindley, Who Would Introduce Interesting Textures To His Music On A Variety Of Stringed Instruments For The Next Several Years." William Ruhlmann, AMG....more
