Aither
Used Import - UF 010
Rare 1989 Original French pressing with embossed cover and insert. "Vox Populi! Aither," released in 1989, stands as a unique artifact within the French experimental and industrial music scene. Vox Populi!, formed in the early 1980s by Axel Kyrou, carved out a distinct niche by merging elements of psychedelic rock, ethnic field recordings, and early industrial electronics. "Aither" was originally issued as a cassette on the Permis de Construire label, reflecting the underground, DIY ethos shared by many European avant-garde acts of the time. The album’s title refers to the classical element “Aether” (or “Aither”), connecting its atmospheric qualities to notions of the intangible and the otherworldly, which is mirrored in the music's deep explorations of sound, blending hypnotic rhythms with abstract sonic collage. more
