Yaghmai, Amir

Vinyl Records and Rare LPs:

Go Bozo
New - LP - AY-GB-LE12
New 2022 original pressing (Not a factory sealed item, housed in outer protective sleeve). Vinyl artwork features a hand-applied lenticular designed by artist Rosha Yaghmai. Limited first pressing of 500 on 150g black vinyl; Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and manufactured by Record Industry Inc (RTI). "Go Bozo, Amir Yaghmai’s debut solo album, is a brilliant blend of club-ready dance grooves and ambient explorations – a bit like hearing a Floating Points remix of Brian Eno’s Apollo. “Go Bozo” was Yaghmai’s mantra during the recording process, a reminder to stay instinctual and only give consideration to what he wanted to hear at any given moment. “If I'm helping someone else's vision take shape, what I’m playing is always very carefully considered and I take notes from people; it’s very collaborative,” Yaghmai explains. “When it comes to just something from nothing on my own, I was a novice.” While Yaghmai had a few touchstones in mind, collaborators like Feist and Nosaj Thing to help out on a few tracks, and a plethora of notes he’d sketched out, at the studio, he abandoned any plans; he showed up and simply played. The end result is propulsive yet deftly titrated, intuitively combining the experimentation of electronic music, the improvisatory qualities of jazz and stylistic cues of Middle Eastern, Eastern European and African folk music." - Colorfield Records. more
