Farewell Song
Used - LP - PC 37569
1982 Original With Custom Album Hype Sticker On The Shrink Wrap. Previously Unreleased Recordings With Paul Butterfield And Big Brother And The Holding Company. Janis Joplin's posthumous album "Farewell Song" is a bittersweet reminder of the raw talent that was lost too soon. This collection of live recordings and studio outtakes showcases Joplin's distinctive voice and her ability to infuse emotion into every note she sang.
The album features a mix of covers, including "Tell Mama" and "Raise Your Hand". Joplin's performance on each track is powerful and authentic, with a rawness that captures her spirit and soul.
While it is clear that these recordings were not intended for release as a cohesive album, "Farewell Song" is a fitting tribute to Joplin's legacy and a reminder of the impact she had on music. It is a must-listen for fans of Joplin and classic rock alike.

I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!
New - LP - KCS 9913
Sealed 1969 360 Stereo Original (KCS Prefix) with hype sticker. "I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!" is the debut solo studio album by American singer Janis Joplin, released on September 11, 1969. Following her departure from the band Big Brother and the Holding Company, Joplin embarked on a solo career to explore different musical styles. The album showcases her distinctively powerful and emotive voice, blending rock with soul and blues influences. Accompanied by the Kozmic Blues Band, Joplin delivers raw and passionate performances on tracks like "Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)" and "Kozmic Blues," which highlight her ability to convey deep emotions through her singing.
The album received mixed reviews upon release but has since been appreciated for its experimental approach and the way it captured Joplin's dynamic range as an artist. It features a mix of original songs and covers, including renditions of "Maybe" and "Little Girl Blue," where Joplin's vocal intensity is matched by the rich instrumentation that includes horns and a robust rhythm section. Despite its initial reception, "I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!" contributed to Joplin's legacy as a pioneering figure in rock and blues music, showcasing her commitment to authenticity and emotional depth in her artistry.

In Concert
Used - LP - C2X 31160
2LP Gatefold original. Janis Joplin's "In Concert" is a stunning testimony to the raw and emotional power of one of rock's most legendary voices. Recorded live from 1968 to 1970, the album showcases Joplin's incredible range and intensity as she belts out classic songs like "Piece of My Heart" and "Ball and Chain." Backed by her bands, Big Brother and the Holding Company & Full Tilt Boogie, Joplin's vocals soar and wail with a ferocity that remains unmatched to this day. But what truly sets this album apart is the way Joplin channels her own pain and vulnerability into the music. Whether she's singing about love or heartbreak, she does so with such honesty and conviction that you can't help but be moved. This is not just a collection of songs, but a snapshot of a moment in time when Joplin was at the top of her game, pouring her heart and soul into every note. If you're a fan of rock music, you owe it to yourself to experience the power of "In Concert."

Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits
New - LP - 19075819581
Sealed 2018 Reissue From The Sony Affiliated "We Are Vinyl". Includes Download Card. Can't Confirm Runout Variant. "Drawing Inspiration From Bessie Smith And Odetta, Janis Joplin Developed A Brash, Uncompromising Vocal Style Quite Unlike Traditional Folk Madonnas. In 1966, Joplin Was Invited To The Bay Area To Front Big Brother & The Holding Company. Cheap Thrills, A Joyous Celebration Of True Psychedelic Soul, Contained Two Joplin "Standards" In "Piece Of My Heart" And "Ball And Chain," But She Left The Group In November 1968. Electric Flag Members Mike Bloomfield, Harvey Brooks, And Nick Gravenites Helped Assemble A New Act, Known As The Kozmic Blues Band. I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama! Was Coolly Received, But The Set Contained Several Excellent Joplin Vocals, Notably "Try," "Maybe," And "Little Girl Blue." The Singer Subsequently Dissolved The Band And Undertook Medical Advice For Drinking And Drug Abuse. A Slimmed-down Group, The Full Tilt Boogie Band, Was Unveiled In May 1970 Featuring A Tighter, More Intimate Sound. Sessions For A Debut Album Were All But Complete When, On October 4, 1970, Joplin Died Of A Heroin Overdose At Her Hollywood Hotel. The Posthumous Pearl Proved Her Most Consistent Work, With "My Baby," "Cry Baby," And The Anthemic "Get It While You Can." The Highlight Was The Chart-topping "Me And Bobby Mcgee," Which Allowed Joplin To Be Both Vulnerable And Assertive. Joplin Knew Few Boundaries, Artistic Or Personal, And Her Sadly Brief Catalog Is Marked By Her Bare-nerved Honesty." AMG Review By Rovi Staff.

The Rest, Recorded In 1970, Finds Her With Her Backup Group, Full Tilt Boogie, Mostly Performing Songs From I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama! Joplin Puts Herself Out On-stage, Both In Terms Of Singing Until Her Voice Is Raw And Describing Her Life To Her Audiences. Parts Of This Album Are Moving, Parts Are Heartbreaking, And The Rest Is Just Great Rock & Roll." AMG Review By William Ruhlmann.

Pearl
Used - LP - KC 30322
1971 Original in shrink. Her 5 star masterpiece in all its hot stamper glory. Janis Joplin's final studio album, "Pearl," is a soulful and powerful showcase of her raw, blues-inspired vocals. Released posthumously in 1971, the album features a range of tracks that highlight Joplin's versatility as a performer, from the soulful ballad "Cry Baby" to the raucous and energetic "Move Over."
One of the standout tracks on the album is undoubtedly "Me and Bobby McGee," a cover of a song originally written by Kris Kristofferson. Joplin infuses the track with her signature style, delivering a haunting and emotional rendition that solidified her status as a legendary performer.
"Pearl" is a poignant reminder of Joplin's immense talent and the impact she had on the music industry during her short but unforgettable career. With its powerful vocals, soulful melodies, and emotionally charged lyrics, "Pearl" continues to be a timeless classic that resonates with listeners today.

Pearl
Used Import - 88697159491
2007 German 180gm reissue. Her 5 star masterpiece. VG++/EX jacket, tiny crease mark on rear cover and seam rub spots. "Janis Joplin's second masterpiece (after Cheap Thrills), Pearl was designed as a showcase for her powerhouse vocals, stripping down the arrangements that had often previously cluttered her music or threatened to drown her out. Thanks also to a more consistent set of songs, the results are magnificent -- given room to breathe, Joplin's trademark rasp conveys an aching, desperate passion on funked-up, bluesy rockers, ballads both dramatic and tender, and her signature song, the posthumous number one hit "Me and Bobby McGee." The unfinished "Buried Alive in the Blues" features no Joplin vocals -- she was scheduled to record them on the day after she was found dead. Its incompleteness mirrors Joplin's career: Pearl's power leaves the listener to wonder what else Joplin could have accomplished, but few artists could ask for a better final statement." All Music Guide - Steve Huey.
